Recovery Coach Supervisor and Lead

The Recovery Coach Supervisor and Lead is responsible for providing supervision and support for Recovery Coaches in clinical addiction programs at Boston Medical Center: the CATALYST Clinic, OBAT, ABOVE, RECOVER, RESPECT, and other substance use disorder programs that express interest in hiring Recovery Coaches. Reports to the Recovery Coach Program Consultant and then the Grayken Center Medical Director. Also includes working as part of integrated team in a busy clinical setting that includes physicians, nurses and social workers. This position requires experience as a recovery coach, a recovery coach supervisor, good organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Recruit and hire new recovery coaches with support of program lead
  • Work with the Recovery Coach Program Consultant to provide training and orientation to new recovery coaches well policies, procedures and work flows of rest of team
  • Work with the Recovery Coach Program Consultant to develop and share the resource guide for teams with Recovery Coaches
  • Provide supervision and constructive feedback for recovery coaches with weekly group meetings, individual bi-weekly supervision and informally with check-ins
  • Generally works to develop a Recovery Coach community at Boston Medical Center
  • Provide regular feedback to the Recovery Coach Program Consultant and the Grayken Center team on current status and needs of Recovery Coaches
  • Review and ensure proper documentation  for patient encounters, resource development efforts, and other interventions for each patient, including date, time, and signature in the electronic medical record
  • Supports additional recoverees as needed Collaborates and coordinates with health care team members, including social work, to promote positive prevention, harm reduction when needed
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with the community and resources to ensure patient access
  • Complies with departmental, regulatory and contract requirements for documentation recording, and data collection, and submits department statistics and other records and reports within required time frames.
  • Conforms to hospital standards of performance and conduct, including those pertaining to patient rights and privacy
  • Utilizes hospital’s policies and standards as the basis for decision making and to support the hospital’s mission and goals.
  • Follows established hospital infection control and safety procedures
  • Remains knowledgeable of and follows appropriate policies, procedures, and work standards, including but not limited to, policy regarding hours of work, absenteeism, and tardiness.
  • Maintains competency in areas of responsibility to ensure quality of care.
  • Maintains strict protocols of all confidential or sensitive information
  • Attends hospital required and relevant training sessions or activities
  • Promotes a positive and collaborative work environment supportive of the hospital’s missions and goals.
  • Adapts to changing departmental needs, including but not limited to, offering assistance to other team members, adjusting assignments, and other functions as determined by Medical Director Performs other duties assigned or as necessary.
