Research Assistant - Administrative

Boston Medical Center's Clinical Addiction Research and Education (CARE) Unit is seeking a research/administrative assistant to join our team full-time. The CARE Unit conducts research on topics such as integrating addiction treatment into primary care, medication for addiction treatment, overdose prevention, and the impact of opioid use disorder on the larger population. The research/administrative assistant will work on several grant funded studies in the field of addiction and overdose prevention. Primary responsibilities include preparing study related materials including IRB submissions, literature reviews, and presentations for the interdisciplinary team. This role will also include organizing and preparing for inter-departmental meetings and a variety of research related tasks. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational skills, management techniques for handling multiple projects and timelines at once, and great communication skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to progress reports and IRB submissions
  • Assist in preparation of manuscripts, literature reviews, and grant submissions
  • Organize and prepare presentations for internal and external meetings
  • Organize and prepare meeting materials including minutes and agendas
  • Coordinates communication among research team and outside stakeholders
  • Assists in CARE department projects and programs
  • Other research related tasks as needed, including data entry and cleaning, development of figures and tables

  • Some experience in research settings
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
