ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Acts as pharmacy data Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for understanding the pharmacy data living in disparate systems throughout BMC. Develops queries and performs analysis against operational data sets to understand as well as provide guidance on how to integrate data from different systems. Prepares mock ups of graphical reports to be used as report specifications. Partners with data warehouse staff within the Analytics and Public Reporting team. Presents data and provides feedback as needed. Works with Pharmacy Managers, Supervisors and Senior Analysts to identify and analyze customers' needs/requests. Partners with Analytics team to define deliverables and stay on track to achieve the goals. Acts as the internal and external contact for clinical data related to the Pharmacy. Validate and ensure the integrity of data extracted and reported from various source systems Understand the legal issues regarding participation in specific pharmacy service agreements including 340b patient eligibility Participate in the management and communication of data sets required to meet other contract obligations. Ensure integrity and confidentiality of an PHI transmitted in response to contractual data requirements Designs and maintains databases of financial and clinical data for pharmacy programs for program evaluations, competitor comparisons, and responses to request for proposals. Summarizes data and prepares reports and analysis for pharmacy administration. Teams in analysis of large data files. Works with person responsible for contract for Medication Therapy Management (MTM) program to conduct vendor monitoring, data validation, and reporting.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience is required.
Intermediate knowledge of SQL and able to write some basic SQL code
Experience in health care, specifically with retail pharmacy systems such as RX30 and QS/1 preferred.
Experience with CRM / cloud data systems such as Salesforce preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Intermediate level SQL programming language experience, preferably in an Oracle environment.
Experience working with Electronic Health Record and/or pharmacy dispensing system software preferred.
Proficiency in understanding of relational databases, database structure and design, data management and data warehousing.
High degree of initiative to anticipate the data needs of the department to research and relate available data sources.
Advanced ability to use of desktop productivity tools including Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Able to learn/utilize company specific claim systems, databases, and document management systems.
Ability to organize, synthesize and analyze large amounts of information.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver required products in a timely manner.
Must be well-organized.
Detail oriented with a commitment to producing analytic product that consistently meets the highest standards of accuracy.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work in a team oriented environment.
Strong verbal and written skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with diverse audiences including physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, administrator and a wide-variety of non-technical staff.
Ability to explain data analysis to non-technical audiences.
