We are looking for an outgoing, highly motivated, and customer-service oriented Research Assistant to engage and recruit participants into the All of Us Research Program at Boston Medical Center. The Research Assistant is responsible for engagement and recruitment of patients in multiple settings (primarily clinic-based approach of patients and engagement with patients from a Program table). This role provides exposure to multiple aspects of a large nationwide research program.Job Description

The All of Us Research Program is a national research program with the goal of building a diverse cohort of one million U.S. volunteers. The Program will widely represent the U.S. population with participants from different socioeconomic backgrounds, ancestral backgrounds, health conditions, and certain environmental and geographical factors. All samples and data will be stored in a secure database and provide researchers with baseline data, biospecimens, healthcare records, survey data, wearable device information and genetic results. The Research Program will support research in various areas including pharmacogenetics, precision medicine, prediction and prevention to advance treatments of diseases.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

Communicate the mission and objectives of the All of Us Research Program (AoURP) to potential participants and articulate how the mission can benefit our community.

Enthusiastically participate in engagement activities including, but not limited to, a) engaging with patients at Program tables at hospitals and community-based events; b) approaching patients in the clinical setting; and c) calling patients on the phone.

Recruit study participants at hospital-based clinics. Assist with electronic informed consent using specialized software, answering questions from participants.

Track and record engagement and enrollment activities in program-specific software. Responsible for data validation and quality control.

All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
Previous experience in clinical research, public health experience preferred.
Excellent English communication skills (oral and written). Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish preferred.
Previous experience with recruiting subjects, with an understanding of the ethical and technical conduct of research preferred.
Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of social, racial and ethnic populations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web browsers.
Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of all personal/health sensitive information.
