Description

Under the direction of the Director of Financial Planning, the Decision Support Manager will develop, plan and maintain the analytic tools necessary to determine what services are profitable to the hospital. Responsibilities include selection and implementation of cost accounting software, hiring and management of professional staff to run the software, development of service line profitability reports, and dissemination of those reports. The Decision Support Manager will function as an internal consultant to hospital and physician leadership to evaluate new programs, perform cost-benefit analysis, and other analysis as needed. The Decision Support Manager will also work to develop cost and profitability reports to support hospital efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required. Masters in Business Administration, Health Administration or a related field preferred.
Experience working with cost accounting and revenue modeling software preferred
Requires at least 3 - 5 years of healthcare finance experience, preferably in an acute care hospital setting
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills.
Ability to analyze large volume of financial and operational data and draw meaningful conclusions.
Experience with database software such as Microsoft Access, SQL, SAS or others
Required interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all levels of management
Proven team-building skills and the ability to supervise and evaluate the work of others
Ability to build strong relationships across the organization and collaborate effectively with other departments both inside and outside Finance
